OUR STORY

We are Freedomhouse

Our journey began in January 2015, with only a handful of families meeting during the week in Nic and Tarryn Graham’s lounge in Brettenwood, Salt Rock. Hungry for a deep and authentic expression of Christianity, we gathered in worship to pour our love on God and encourage each other toward bold and courageous living.

It was raw, it was powerful, and it was life-changing as Holy Spirit met with us as we ministered, prophesied and got to grips with the kingdom of God.

After initially meeting in homes, then The Monkey Country pub at The Litchi Orchard, we found a more permanent space at Burnedale, near Umhlali, in a converted barn – a place of concrete floors, open gum pole sides and a tin roof. All good things start in a barn, and it has been breathtaking since.

‘Silver and gold, we don't have, but what we do have we give you...’
In April of 2017 Freedomhouse Church was launched from Glenridge Church, Durban, and what an adventure it has been.
We feel like we have not too much other than God alive amongst His people to offer, but we love it and Holy Spirit is adding to us weekly.
The Acts 3 words of Peter and John, coined by Matt Roberts in our earliest of days, seem to be our very own: ‘silver and gold we do not have, but what we have we give you …’

Glorious

True to this, we have relied on God’s powerful and kind leading and we plan to remain in that safe and exciting place for good.

We never thought we would be a church but God loves taking the unlikeliest of things and making them glorious.

We believe we are on a glorious journey with Jesus, and you are welcome to join us.
